Morning Campers! The British Holiday Camp. at Beverley Art Gallery
The first Holiday Camp appeared in 1894 on the Isle of Man; however it was in the 1920s that Billy Butlin launched the concept of the holiday camp in a gigantic way.
The concept grew rapidly after the Second World War and dominated the British holiday scene through the 1950s and 1960s. This exhibition celebrates this uniquely British institution.A nostalgic exhibition exploring the history of the British Holiday Camp
